Having started dance at 18 after years as a seated musician, I had to really overcome my fears and doubts when it came to taking class. I didn’t exactly have the luxury of starting off in a basic class, so I had to just do it. And when I look back, I really believe that’s what helped me succeed the most and get me to Radio City Music Hall, The Metropolitan Opera, and off-Broadway’s Fiddler on the Roof in Yiddish.
I couldn’t hold my self back with negative self-talk or worrying about every possible nuance of a step.
I just had to dance.
That’s what I look to inspire in other actors and movers. It’s not as hard as it looks. Like a centipede who is asked what leg does he step with first and is suddenly paralyzed. We’re no different.
My goal is to first get you to MOVE and then we’ll make it better. Once I can instill the confidence in you that you are dancing, it’ll be much easier for us both to turn you into the dancer you’ve wanted to be!
